"I am curious," Guy said directly, standing on a few feet from him, one hip and leg carrying his weight as he stayed still, watching the other man. There was a freedom in being in nature that even Guy could appreciate. He could not help but think of Hugo for a moment, and think of the tryst they'd shared in the animal enclosed. It had been good, the open air all around them as they'd clawed one another with hungry needs. But this, the forrest hike with Gellert, was decidedly different. He could see the man's handsomeness in the bright light and clean air well. And there was something organic, something lacking from their tea time meeting.
He did not try and guess what the other man was up to, because Guy was ready to fully admit that Gellert was far more intelligent than he was. While Guy had a strong understanding of the law, Gellert clearly understood the darker aspects of the human heart. Guy wondered what Gellert saw when he saw Guy; the anger at his family, his homosexuality, perhaps the jealousy that had always followed him while living amongst the wealthy Britons. It was perhaps silly to think that Gellert could see all this on the surface of his mind and heart, but Guy was not ready to see Gellert as a man yet.
He'd been too well trained to think of him as a hero and symbol.
