Her sobbing had Aberforth releasing her almost immediately, wary of doing anything that would make this experience worse for her. His only intentions were to soothe Arabella as best he could, not frighten her anymore than she already was. He must have done something right though; For one moment she was sobbing and the next she was clinging to his forearms and looking up at him through wide, terrified eyes. Her voice was slightly manic, filled with terror as she gasped out her fears for him to hear. They were not true, of course. From what he had gathered through his readings on the journals and his own very brief experience in the fog, they were simply turned upside down but he was not going to invalidate her fears because to her he knew they felt very real. He listened to what she had to say and when she finally made it to the point of explaining she had no magic he understood why this was all so devastating to her. It was upsetting to most who had magic, who could at least attempt to rid themselves of whatever magic held them captive, but for Arabella..
"Okay." He said finally once she had finished telling him all she felt needed to be said. He kept his voice level and calm, keeping a tight hold on her in the hopes it would help her feel grounded. "Arabella, I need you to listen to me, okay?" he said, dipping his head down closer to hers so he could meet her gaze. He brushed his thumbs in soothing circles over her arms as he spoke, taking a deep breath as he began. "This fog is a result of the village's magic according to the Board Members. They are working as we speak to put an end to it. What has happened to us is that we have been reversed, upside down. We will not float away. We're just going to be the wrong way up for a bit until they figure out how to get us back down. I have my wand, if you'd like for me to try a few spells to get us back down. But until then, it appears we will be just fine. I've brought us supplies and I will not leave your side until we're back on proper solid ground. You're not alone. I'm right here. I promise you that." Aberforth said, tone deep and steady as he spoke.
"Now, I need you to take a deep breath, okay. Here." Gently he took her hand and placed it on his own chest so she could feel both the calm, steady beat of his heart and feel the rise and fall of his chest. "Breathe with me."
