Dinner Party - Remus & Teddy
WHO: Teddy & Remus Lupin
WHAT: Father/son time at the party.
WHERE: Malfoy Manor Gardens
WHEN: Saturday 23 August
RATING: PG
STATUS: PENDING
Despite what Draco and Astoria said, Remus expected a more formal party. He was glad he was wrong about that. He wasn’t really the formal type. He hated dressing in stiff robes and trying to decipher what type of food to eat. He hadn’t been raised in that environment and it wasn’t like he was invited to many of those fancy dinners while growing up. He had been worried about what to wear, but settled on casual slacks that would work well with the heat, a button down, a tie, and a jacket. Once he saw the party wasn’t as formal as all that, he lost the jacket and loosened his tie. Thank Merlin!
He was enjoying himself. The food and company were delightful. He made a fool of himself on the dance floor, but who cared? He was there to have fun. His life was going well and he wanted to enjoy the time he had with the people he loved.
He hadn’t seen much of Teddy since he arrived. Remus didn’t want to be an overbearing dad. He knew Teddy was a teenager and needed space…just not too much space. Remus was still worried about Teddy and Charity possibly getting hurt, but he knew pushing them about it wouldn’t work in anyone’s favor. He just had to be an ear when they needed. They were good kids. Nevertheless, Remus knew what could happen with kids and alcohol. The bar was monitored, but kids had their ways, especially when alcohol was still a novelty. Besides, he just wanted to see his kid for a while. Was that a crime? It was his right to be the embarrassing father sometimes, right?
He finally found Teddy near the dessert table. “Your cousin has a chocolate fountain here. I knew I liked that boy.” He wrapped Teddy in a one-armed hug.
