Marlene was going to go out dancing, which wasn't something she'd been able to say since she'd been in school and hadn't known war or the pain of loosing her family. She had started to view the village as a sort of in-between point between the horrors of her reality the blackness and void of death. Here she could enjoy life, even if it was fleeting and not at all promised to last.
Sirius inviting her out was just a cherry on top, because if anyone knew how to have fun, it was Sirius. Or at least he had in school, when they'd been dumb and young and she'd informed him that she was far too much woman for him to handle. She planned on being just that as she walked through the doors of All Night Long, the nightclub. Marlene had gone right to the person in charge of the music and asked if songs of the 70's could be played that night- not exclusively, but maybe a few so that she and Sirius could hear the music they were used to the most.
Dressed in a bright red dress she had cut to above her knees, Marlene had actually gone ahead and tried to be, well, a girl that night. Her hair was pulled back in a club, she'd put makeup on, she had heels on, and was dancing on her own in the middle of the dance floor as one of her favorite songs played. She'd already downed one shot of scotch, and had every intention of downing a few more once Sirius hurried himself into the club. She raised her arms above her head, dancing on her own without a care in the world or even thinking about how silly she might have looked right. She was relaxed for the first time since coming. She didn't see any death eaters. Her cat wasn't bursting into flames anymore. Maybe, just maybe, she actually was safe.
