Albus didn't give hugs as freely as he once did. He wasn't sure if that was because he was growing up or because of things that happened in the village, but he wasn't sure he liked losing that part of himself. He wasn't sure why, but he felt like a piece of himself returned when Allie was around, like she accepted and knew him without him having to explain. He didn't need to try so hard with her. He didn't need to explain why he was the way he was and, more importantly, he didn't feel ashamed of who he was when he was around her. So AJ definitely got lots of hugs...especially when he thought she might be sad.
He giggled at her declaration. Of course they'd live. Jamie had the adoration of the masses and Lily was the girl born to embody her namesakes. His siblings were important. Al was just Al...the one with the strange name match-up who didn't seem to quite fit...in his mind anyway. Yet when Allie said he was her favorite, he believed her for some reason. It was a nice feeling. "You've met Jamie," Al replied. "His ego might take a real hit."
