Allie turned her head to look at the girl who’d walked up. She hadn’t even heard her approach, she’d been so lost in her thoughts. She ran a hand through her messy hair and tried to attempt a smile at the other person, before she shoulders slumped in a bit of a shrug.
“I’m fine… or, you know, I will be.” AJ tried to sound a bit confident in that. And she was really, even if she couldn’t entirely feel it, because she knew that she loved her family and they loved each other (even if, in the case of her parents, it was just a platonic love), and she knew that they’d work it all out. “I think… it still throws me for a loop how different everything is here, and how relationships are here. But I’ll be okay.” She sighed then, “Thanks for asking.”
