The knock at the door echoed through the otherwise empty house, and Frank froze. He had faced many strange and terrifying things, over the course of his career, but none had filled him with a feeling quite like this did. The fear, though, was all a very selfish one- that Neville would turn him away, in the end. Frank tried to imagine what he would do, in a similar situation, but his mind seemed as frozen as the rest of him. Neville was, Frank knew- even without seeing him- a braver man than he would ever be, just for having the courage to knock.
Somehow, Frank made it to the door. Swallowing heavily- not that it did much use- he pulled it open... and whatever brave words or strong, fatherly advice he might have had died on his lips right there. Instead, Frank stepped forward, pulling his son into a strong, desperate embrace- silently just hoping that Neville wouldn't pull away.
