Draco/Albus/Astoria
WHO: Draco Malfoy, Astoria Greengrass, & Albus Potter
WHAT: Albus is a sweet, but embarrassing third wheel.
WHERE: Movie theatre!
WHEN: Tuesday evening
RATING: PG
Draco was not well versed in muggle things, but he had a crash course in films thanks to his girls at the Manor, Colin, and a plethora of other friends and family who visited his home in the village. While most muggle things still confused him, he found he liked films. They were like the wireless, but with pictures. They were like plays, but one didn’t even need to leave the house to watch. Well, they didn’t need to leave unless they decided to visit the movie theatre. Astoria mentioned she wanted the full film experience so Draco immediately thought the theatre was the best place to give her that.
He picked her up at her cottage after deciding on simple black slacks and a green short sleeved button down shirt. He didn’t bother with robes. It was too hot. In the back of his mind, he realized the whole night could be considered a date. He hadn’t thought about such emotions in a long time. He had been too busy trying to keep himself from going mad after the war to worry about dating. However, he felt freer than he had in a long time since he aged up and then returned to his normal age. Life was going to work out. He just needed to do his best. It was a liberating thought. Still, with less time spent dwelling on the past, Draco was starting to realize how much he cared about some of the women in his life. It made him feel guilty. Was it really possible to have feelings for more than one girl at the same bloody time? He could see why he ended up with Astoria, but he told himself it wasn’t like he could (or should) pursue her in the village. She was a student and he was the damn Peer Mentor, after all. Then of course he had his confusing feelings for Fleur and Pansy. Fleur probably thought he was too young now, right? And Pansy…that hippogriff flew. Yet he couldn’t help his feelings, which is why he knew going out with Astoria was likely dangerous for his mental health, but it wasn’t like he was just going to leave the future mother of his children to explore the crazy village alone. Right. Completely selfless.
When they reached the theatre, he held the door open for her. “The full experience,” he said with a sweep of his hand. “Smell that? Fresh popcorn.”
