Who: Frankie, AJ, Hannah (later) What: Welcoming AJ to the village When: Shortly following AJ's arrival Where: City hall / the house
Frankie made sure Gandalf was safely secured inside the house before he left. As much as it probably made more sense to take him with, he was too excited to walk. Speed was of the essence. He jumped on his bike and sped off down the street towards the square, and city hall. He had not actually planned on going out today, and his outfit was a little haphazard, but it wasn't as though anyone would care.
He hadn't realised he'd miss his family so much. Perhaps it was because they were always around - the longest he'd been apart from AJ had been his first year at Hogwarts, and even then he'd gone back at Christmas and Easter, so only a few months. After that he had his siblings and his dad at school with him. He missed his mum, of course, but he was almost used to that in a way; and anyway she was here with him, so missing her was not a problem.
He grinned madly as he imagined his mum's reaction to AJ's arrival. He was sure she'd been pleased. He knew it had been difficult for Hannah when she'd come before as a child, just for a couple weeks. He had a feeling it would be longer, this time. He couldn't explain it. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that children and old people tended to move in and out fairly quickly, whearas teenagers and young adults were more or less constant. Unless you started dating Frankie Longbottom, in which case you might as well write yourself off.
He shook his head, annoyed by this inappropriately self-pitying thought, and skidded to a sliding halt in the square. A few adults walking past shot him slightly disapproving looks - he ignored them. He left the bike leaning against the fountain and hurried, panting a bit, into city hall. "Allie!" He recognised his sister instantly. A few months made no difference. He cannoned into her and hugged her tight around the waist with probably a little too much enthusiasm.
