Lea didn't know where she was, and she wasn't sure what that young girl, Belle, had meant about differences. She'd never placed a Belle with a family, and Lea was sure she was mistaking her for another Mathews. It wasn't an uncommon name, after all. That's why she'd chosen it when she and Toby went out on their own. She figured a name as plain as Mathews would help them blend in, would make people forget about them when she couldn't obliviate everyone.
Only, when she returned to the magical world, when Toby started school seven years ago, she'd found that her path crossed with several people she'd gone to school with. Draco Malfoy, Michael Corner, Susan Bones. Even Harry Potter was involved in her work a little. The people she didn't have anything or much to do with when she was in school were now on her side. They supported her cause. She saw a need for social workers in the magical world, and they were there to help her try to help children and women in need.
She wanted to get back to that job, but she found herself near a lake instead. She moved as far away from it as she dared, so that Draco could still find her. Large bodies of water just weren't her thing. They never had been, and she wanted to put some distance between her and it. She had a lot of questions, the foremost of which was where was she?
