Who: Hannah and Frankie What: Mother son time When: Saturday afternoon Where:Strikes and Skates
Hannah had done her best to be a good mum. She thought she'd been doing well enough until the age fiasco. Where had she gone wrong? She'd tried to be a good friend to Justin and care for him through what had to be a scary time for a young boy. Still, Frankie had to be her first priority. No, she hadn't liked how he'd treated Justin. In fact it had made her quite angry. Frankie had gotten a lecture that likely rivaled anything he'd ever received at home. She'd been so mad that Hannah hadn't cared that he was legally an adult. If he was going to live in her house he was going to do what she expected. So, for the next month Frankie would be picking up after Gandalf without the use of magic.
Sure, he'd mumbled for a few days but things had gotten better. In fact, Hannah had been glad when she saw that Justin had returned to who they'd all come accustom to him being. However, before she could be glad she saw where Justin had not only told Frankie how he'd felt but had berated him to a point that she felt had been absolutely unnecessary. Their conversation upset her so much that she'd cried herself to sleep the night before as her heart broke over how little Justin seemed to care about her. She didn't remember him being this selfish in school. He'd always taken care of her and this felt like the exact opposite.
The need for validation had led her to reach out to Frankie and convince him to spend the afternoon with her at the bowling alley. So here they were seating at the lane they'd been assigned and getting their shoes on in anticipation of what Hannah was sure was going to be a severe beating by her son. "Take it easy on your old mum," she said as she tied her shoe.
