Justin had seen a bit of magic. Hannah had shown him some things before he left her care, but he liked being with Ernie. Liam was nice, too, which was a change from having to watch his every step with Frankie. It worked out in the end, Justin knew. He liked Hannah, but not the boy. All he could think was that he hoped Frankie eventually remembered his manners, or learned them if he'd never been properly taught. But he didn't think about that very often. He had Ernie to follow around and play with! Justin was already having a lot of fun with Ernie, even before Ernie started showing him magic.
"Oooooo," was his eloquent reply to seeing Ernie's wand. It looked so cool. "I want a wand! I prob'ly can't have one, though." Justin resisted the urge to frown at that. Nobody liked a pouter. Plus, what good was a wand when you couldn't even do any magic with it? He didn't even know how to do any magician tricks, so a wand would be useless to him. Still, it would be cool to have. "There are books of spells here?" The child's eyes widened in anticipation. "Does abracadabra do anything?"
