Amelia wasn't overly expecting anything from Susan. She understood that in a state like she was currently in, things were difficult. Amelia had been there herself after Edgar, Sally, the kids, her Order friends, her school friends... so many people had died. She had nightmares. She didn't sleep for months. She had been falling apart from the inside out. At least Susan had been smart enough to get help. Amelia tried to carry it all on her own. In that sense, she was just so... proud of Susan. She found her to have more strength than Amelia herself ever did based on her decisions.
"Don't be sorry, my love," she said softly, reaching out and putting her hand over the top of Susan's. "I know how much this can be. I know how much you've been through. I'm not expecting anything out of you, I promise. I'm just so happy you are here. I couldn't bare the thought of you leaving." Smiling at her, she patted her hand a bit and smiled at Susan's compliments. Looking down at her stomach she blushed a bit and shrugged. "To be completely honest, I'm terrified. Didn't exactly get the chance to do this back home, as we both know. Makes it even all the more scary to me for some reason."
Perhaps she was being ridiculous, but she wanted to be honest. After all, Susan was being honest with her about what she could. She wanted such a thing to be mutual between them. "No going back now though, eh?" she joked lightly, hoping to get Susan to break a small smile.
