Stress was bad for a pregnancy. Cressida had to remind herself of that every morning, to try to stop from putting herself into conversations and situations that raised her blood level. She needed to be calm and relaxed. That was better for her, the baby, and everyone who had to actually interact with her. But when the alarm on her journal sounded because of her father's entry, when she saw that Myrtle was missing, she couldn't quite convince herself of that stress free was the way to be.
She had barely begun to look for her little sister when she saw her brother's entry. She had sat on a bench in the park while she talked to him. She knew he was with Ron; she seriously doubted he'd move houses in his sleep, and if he had woken up at the Manor, he would have known it instantly. When she used his full name, she couldn't help but feel like their mother.
When the first thing out of his mouth when he opened the door was mum, her heart broke a little for this kid. She smiled kindly down at her younger older brother. "I'm sorry, Scorp. I didn't mean to confuse you." She held her right hand out to him for a shake. "It's good to know you. Have you eaten? We can stop for breakfast before I take you to the Manor. Or do you just want to see your dad now, and eat later?"
