Edwyn knew how volatile Ava Slytherin could be. He understood, to a degree, how her mind worked from the time he spent with her father while he was here. He knew, without a doubt, that she would find him, and she would be armed. Still, he took care to arrange honey cakes and tea on a tray, and he took care to make the sitting room he shared with his wife appear and fell welcoming. She was coming from Rowena's funeral, which meant that Helena was dead to her as well, and Edwyn knew those times were full of uncertainty and grief.
Sitting before the hearth in one of the leather chairs, the Duke waited for the girl. When he heard her enter the room, for he had left the door open so she could come in freely, he turned and gave her a small bow. "Hello, lass. I know you and I have never met, but I know my son takes after me." He smiled fondly, briefly, at the memory of William. "I am Edwyn Ravenclaw, and I am sorry for your losses."
He indicated the other chair. "Please, sit. I will answer any questions you have."
