Ava watched Gellert for a few more moments, just long enough to assess how likely it was that he would attempt to spell against her. She nodded as he spoke, turning her attention back to the wood she was thinning with her dagger.
“It is my experience that anyone who enters the woods are hiding from something, whether they know it or not.” It was a simple enough comment, said rather nonchalantly. She tapped the top of her calf high boots, pointing out the almost unnoticeable point at which her wand poked out, just within reach of her grasp as she sat on the woods floor. It was a thin, ornate thing, as most wands were in her time (only the rich could afford them afterall) with a silver snake etched on the side.
“You’ll find I’m also quite capable with a wand as any of the other villagers, and quicker with a bow than you’d imagine.” She said softly, “A rarity, yes, but you’ll notice that there are not many from the year 994.” She shrugged at him, finally regarding him again to see his reaction to her statement.
