WHO; Pete and Mike Corner! WHAT; chatting over drinks WHEN; Saturday night WHERE; The Blue Cow RATING; high-ish for swearing, probably STATUS; closed/incomplete
This village was a really weird place and Pete wasn't sure how to navigate it. His parents being the wrong ages, especially his mother being younger than him, was utterly backwards. He could deal with his father being the younger age, and he was sure his mum would try, but it was still screwed up. At least Cressida was close to normal age and there were copies of their films running around. A bit of the real world in this psycho copy version helped him keep his grip on reality, however flimsy it might be.
And while he could get used to his dad being an age before which he was married to his mum, he wasn't expecting any new relationships on that front. He certainly doubted Cass knew. To find out through the journals, with a conversation among Mike, Bee, and Miles...that was like a kick in the gut. He'd always had a very, possibly strangely, open relationship with his dad. They talked about pretty much everything, and it was the fact that Mike hadn't told him about it that had Pete angry the most.
Of course, though, he understood where his dad was coming from when he explained. Yeah, he wasn't married to Megan at his current age, and he couldn't really expect his dad to be celibate. That didn't mean the situation was expected, though. Blah. At least he knew where the pub was, and he made his way there slowly shortly after he stopped talking to his dad. Pete didn't see him yet, so he made his way to a stool at the counter and ordered a beer.
