"I don't plan on going anywhere any time soon." She said after another deep, steadying breath. Bizarre as this village might be, it was still reality. Or at least closer to reality than her dreams had been and that fact was helping to keep her calm and collected. This day was hard. It had been hard for the last 15 years and there was every possibility that it would never stop being hard. They'd lost so much that it was sometimes difficult to remember what they had gained: a world where their children would grow up in peace.
"What if we just stayed here all day?" She asked, like she did every year, though she knew they couldn't. Hiding from the day wasn't the answer and besides, there were people to be checked on. Though, in that moment, the weight of everything made the bed seem like a much more desirable option.
