Grandad/daughter bonding time
Who: Harry & Polaris
Where: Strikes and Skates (wherever that is now)
When: Backd. Saturday afternoon
Harry was beyond pleased that Po had agreed to go on an outing with him, even if he had in asking unknowingly alighted in her that competetive spirit that was so reminiscent of his wife he could cry. Next time, Quidditch, he thought wryly. Then he might at least stand a chance of retaining some dignity against a girl half his age.
At least, he thought as they changed their shoes and set up the scoreboard, this was an activity he was at least somewhat familiar with. Of course he'd only played once or twice in the last eight years, usually an outing organised by Dean or another Muggleborn friend or work colleague, and he was content to be as clueless as anyone else, even if it was for different reasons. The Dursleys as far as he was aware had never been bowling - he could just imagine what Aunt Petunia would say on the subject - even if they would have taken him with them, which they would not.
Still, at least he got the basic gist. And if he did make a fool of himself, he could only hope that his own Granddaughter wouldn't judge him for it. At least he had decent hand-eye coordination. "You better go first," he said, tightening the laces on his shoes. "Set a good precedent."
