Cedric had already been off wandering the forest like a madman by the time he had seen Ted's call for help. It hadn't been easy to reign in his emotions during the battle, but he had muted them down, forced himself to focus and make smart decisions. If he died here, he knew he was headed back to his own time to die in the Tri-Wizard tournament. And he wasn't ready for that yet.
Once the dust had settled, he found her immediately. She didn't even seem to recognize him as he gently led her out of the cave, and the idea of death eaters having addled her mind the way they had Mr. Longbottom sent a brief wave of panic through him. "Ana," he said gently, doing his best to ignore the twisting in his stomach as she started crying. "Ana, it's alright."
