FINDING THE CAVE
When Ted got the call that the patrollers needed more help, he was on it. Call it the Gryffindor stereotype (his nephew certainly did), but he needed to be out there and helping if there was a need. He had had to formulate a plan first, though. It was known that Death Eaters were out there, and that people were missing. He personally hadn't seen any sign of them, but if there were enough here for multiple people to go missing, they had to have had a spot to congregate.
He had gone out into the forest before he'd gotten much further on his thought process. As he traversed it, he didn't see much. What was he supposed to do now? He gave himself a moment to rest and think, hidden behind a large tree so that no one could ambush him. And then it hit him.
Caves. Of course. Ted would bet his life they were in the caves people had mentioned before.
The problem was... he had no idea where the caves were.
He stepped out cautiously, looking around carefully with his wand up to see if he could glean a direction from his spot in the forest, but everything looked the same. He knew the direction he'd come from, but everything else gave him no leads.
Just then, he heard a sound - a tree branch snapping on the floor - and his wand went up again, ready to defend himself. The reflexes came back way too easily, he regretted in the back of his mind.
