He was damn right busy was the best idea. Amelia needed busy, she thrived under busy. It was when she was still that her mind started to bore down on her with far too many thoughts, and why she tended to keep herself occupied with her multitude of activities. Even after the initial pregnancy fatigue, she still tried to do her daily yoga routine, baking, working, on occasion running, cleaning, sketching, and anything else her mind settled on that day to keep from thinking about the real issues at hand. And it wasn't as though Amelia constantly avoided things in an unhealthy way, she was just trying to work out that extra stress and anxiety that came along with a surprise pregnancy in an unstable magical village. Sometimes it could get to an unhealthy level, but she definitely wasn't there yet.
But to be honest, when Gideon held onto her like that, her busy and overactive mind melted for a moment and she couldn't help but bask in the quiet of her head and his arms. She liked that he had that effect on her... really, she needed it from him. One touch from Gideon settled her in ways she couldn't really explain to anyone, not even herself sometimes. But that was love, after all. It couldn't really be explained regardless.
Rolling her eyes at his joke, she snorted the slightest bit and looked up at him with a sarcastic glare. "I'm pretty sure you'd be the bored one without me, Blondie. I think I'm the exciting one here in this duo, after all," she chided, nipping at his lower lip and wondering if he would take the bait. She wasn't exactly sure what she expected as a reaction, but she did know that Gideon had a highly competitive side. And her words sounded an awful lot like she was challenging him and position of most exciting couple member.
