Gideon could perfectly understand what might be happening to Amelia's mind since she found out she was stuck. Not from experience, not really, but he figured there were some general sort of places one's brain went when trapped in a place with no way of escape. He'd learn about it firsthand, both in his future in the other world as well as right then and there in the village, but he read. He knew what kind of crazy the brain could be, especially when under the variety of stresses that Amelia was under. "Busy sounds like the best idea," he agreed, as it would help her to keep from thinking about being stuck. Nonstop fretting would be the surest way to some sort of panic attack.
He was happy, though, even being stuck, when Mel wrapped her arms around him again. he gripped her hips as though he could keep her there this time with just the small amount of pressure. Gideon didn't really know how long they would be able to stand that close to each other. He had only a few experiences with pregnant woman, and how soon they started showing seemed to vary slightly. A few months, definitely, but after that there would be a gap caused by the baby. Gideon was all right with that, though. At least he thought he was - he would be.
"I'm glad I'm here, too," he said, pressing his lips to her forehead. "You'd be lonely as shite if I wasn't." It was a joke, of course. He was trying to keep the situation light, even though it could turn frantic in a moment.
