Victoire's blush deepened, very much despite herself. She loathed when women did this in books, but the reaction was unintentional and completely out of her control. Taking the flower from her husband, she smiled and held it up to her nose to breathe in its clean scent. She would never grow tired of the reminder that they were married; she was Teddy's wife, and he was her husband. It wasn't something that she had ever or would ever forget, but the reminder warmed Victoire's heart; it really had been a while since they had had time alone to be... them. Two people in love, just starting out a new stage of their relationship. They had already been through so much together, particularly lately, and they needed this.
Teddy had made dinner. And set out flowers. It wasn't an emergency; it was a surprise!
Victoire tugged Teddy closer by his shirt to press a soft kiss to his lips. "Thank you, Teddy. This is perfect."
