Draco couldn't just ignore him. For one, the man hadn't actually directly done anything to him. For another, Draco saw no reason to make a bad situation worse. He held no false hope about his uncle accepting the rest of their family, but he hoped he could at least establish enough of a polite relationship that Rodolphus might actually let them be. Besides, it was obvious they were going to be trapped for a while. "I think they went out back," he said. "Or to the loo.
