Nope. All the resolve in the world couldn't keep Vicky composed now. She'd been thinking about walking in her circles, slightly curious about how long it would take before the repeated motion wore a furrow in the ground. Then she realized the ground was too hard for that, with the cold. Perhaps that was fortunate, though, because she didn't want to leave a mark with her worrying. That was foolish, but so perhaps was worrying about seeing her friend again. Vicky knew she hadn't changed much, so it wouldn't be an issue of recognising her or not.
She heard a familiar voice from her past calling her name, and Vicky stopped moving. Just like that, her world and her feet - one and the same at that moment - stopped. Vicky gasped as Colin came closer and she wasn't prepared for the hug, but she eventually returned it. Her arms came up and wrapped tightly around Colin's body and Vicky felt her ability to hold herself up give way. "Oh my God, I can't believe this," she sobbed, the tears coming hard and fast as she clung to her friend. She knew it was pathetic, and she tried to compose herself before he started looking at her strangely.
Vicky released Colin and stepped back, hands quickly wiping at her face to banish all traces of moisture by means of her sleeves. "Sorry. I'm ridiculous," she said, trying to excuse her behavior and leaving her other thoughts unvoiced.
