“I can’t image why,” James started, crossing his arms over his chest as they walked. “I mean, after all. You did take good care of our son. What with feeding him, giving him a bed and keeping him so safe. And I mean, even before that, you always treated us so well. You’ve never had anything but nice things to say about us.”
James turned his head slightly then, to look back at her to make sure she was following him. “You’ve already made such a good impression on the village too. I can’t believe there isn’t a line of people out here to shake your hand, give you a hug and show you where you’ll sleep. Which I’m hoping is the castle, because the less time you spend around my daughter is the best honestly.”
