“Trust me when I tell you…” Edgar said with a pointed look at Gideon when he mentioned that they’d fought side by side more times than either could count. “Having a baby, a little tiny thing the depends on you for literally everything… it’s a hell of a lot scarier than fighting a battle.” He wasn't trying to scare Gideon necessarily, but he wasn't going to hid things from him. Eddie had been terrified when Sally had first become pregnant with Kevin, and though it was less true for the second pregnancy, it had still made him nervous.
“Good,” Edgar said finally, clapping Gideon on the shoulder. “I’d hate to have to hunt you down. I actually like you.” He smirked a bit at his friend. He rolled his shoulders a bit, visibly more calm now that he’d gotten everything he’d wanted to say out of the way. “I wouldn’t get too offended, it would have been a lot worse if you… weren’t you.”
