Hestia didn’t try to fight it when Fabian pulled her to him. She took comfort in him, wrapping her arms tightly around him, relaxing into his embrace. She was glad that he seemed to be so calm about it, for now anyway, though she couldn’t even begin to say what she’d expected. She hardly expected him to yell or throw a fit, but she hadn’t pictured it going as well. Especially when for him they’d only just slept together the one time, they hadn’t done any of the great things that she remembered when looking back on their relationship. Hestia gave a bit of a sigh.
“I should have told you sooner,” Though she’d only been in town a week and she couldn’t even imagine trying to work it into a previous conversation. It had been a secret she’d carried with her for a long time. “Megan… she doesn’t know. I only ever told her that her father was a brave man who died during the war, and she seemed content with that. I mean… no one knew about us, and I didn’t know I was pregnant until after you had passed, and I thought that people, that they might think I wasn’t being honest, so I just… kept my mouth shut about it.” She dropped her head onto his shoulder and sighed, practically shaking with all the stress and emotion of the day.
