Roxy raised her eyebrows at Fabian when he moved his chair so that his back was at a corner. She was used to people doing weird things when they arrived, once upon a time, she was sort of an unofficial welcome wagon, it only went doubly so for people she knew were pulled from what were referred to as the ‘war years’.
“No one should go a month without chips, sweetie.” She chuckled with a wave of her hand, pushing the tray of chips towards her new friend, “Here, try some. If you like them, whatever you want is on me.”
She took his outstretched hand shaking it, “I’m Roxy, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
