Lysander liked working at the Pet Store better than he liked how he worked before the village had to be rebuilt. Either way, he could bring Emmy with him back and forth to work, which was nice for both of them as well as Mike and Anthony. She was already bigger and he couldn't really carry her anymore, but she was fortunately rather obedient and followed him when he called her. He hadn't forgotten Sam, but at least he knew Sam wasn't alone: Lysander was actually in both places and with both dogs, which settled his mind a little.
Work that day was a little slow, but that didn't mean he wasn't busy. He was still a pet trainer, after all, and when he wasn't assisting any customers who dropped in, he was training any animals that were able to be trained. It was a bonus because he could work with Emmy, too, and there was never too much of that. He was thankful for the quiet time (or relatively quiet, insofar as no people were talking but animals were making noise). Sometimes, with how empathetic he was, he just needed quiet time.
When the door to the shop opened, Lysander didn't immediately look up from the animal he was working with. "I'll be right there," he called, giving out a treat before turning his attention to the other human in the building. He didn't see anyone right away, but after walking around a few shelves he saw someone he didn't recognize, which was weird. Lysander thought he knew everyone's face in the village, but not this one. What's worse was that she was rather pretty, which had Lysander looking at her for a few moments more than he ought to. He managed to snap out of it, though, and spoke up. "Can I help you with anything?" he asked, trying not to stare.
