Who: Vogg Naemsson and Rose Weasley
What: Meeting
Where: The winter Festival
When: Saturday afternoon
Vogg had like the idea of the winter festival once it had been explained to him. It reminded him greatly of the summer markets that Uppsala had, and the ones that his father had taken him to in Östra Aros when they went to sell their excess crops and trade for items they’d need for later months. As a boy, he and Ragnar would play in the busy streets, taking in all the sights and smells and occasionally buying treats from other merchants when their father would allow it. When Vogg got older, he had more responsibilities, and took over helping his father with sales after Alfarrin left, but he was no less excited to be in the market. There was an atmosphere there, and excitement to look at the oddities and see people he hadn’t seen in sometime. And the nights, they were impeccable, full of delicacies and ales and unfamiliar women to share his bed for the night.
Of course, it was different here. Vogg knew most of the people at least by sight and most by name, it came with frequenting shops, and engaging in conversation with strangers as he passed. It was in his nature to get to know people. Still, he was curious to see what others had set out, but at least for a little while would focus on selling his own work. He’d had a few things set up to show his ability to build things, as he’d had a few carpentry requests, but he also had Rune Pendants made of spare wood hanging all around his booth for view.
He’d finished talking to one of the other people running booths near him, when he spotted a woman eying his pendants. That in itself wasn’t unusual, but the woman was someone he had not seen before, and that instantly made her all the more interesting. Add to that the fact that she was obviously a woman of great looks, Vogg had no issues with getting motivated to engage her in conversation.
“Hello, pretty woman.” He smiled at her easily. He had gotten better at speaking modern English, but he still had quite the accent, and the subtlety of grammar evaded him. “I am Vogg the Viking, I work the wood here. Those are Rune Pendants very common to my home.”
