Gideon worked earlier that day, which meant dinner. Gideon loved dinner. It was one of his three favorite meals, and it was always good when he didn't have to work from 8pm-2am like he did most days at the night club. Sundays he was off completely, but so was everyone else. Tuesday was his other day, but the rest of them he was usually gone until the early morning. And without magic to clean up every night, he'd be gone even longer. This was one of his lucky Fridays when he was there earlier and doing some stocking and setup. Gideon liked to let Amelia know when those days were coming because then she'd usually make dinner. That was undoubtedly what he'd walk into when he got home, which put a smile on his face as he walked out of the already open-for-business night club.
When he walked into their house, Gideon's nose noticed the meal being prepared before he even knew where Amelia was. Obviously, though, she was in the kitchen, and she clearly knew he was there. After taking off his coat and hanging it on the hook, he walked into the other room, following his nose more than his eyes. "My ass will always thank you," Gid replied, leaning backwards and picking a bit of graham cracker out of Mel's hair. "Besides, there's a gym. Make more cheesecakes, I dare you." Gideon worked out often enough to get rid of most of the gained weight, and now that he was dueling on occasion, that was helping to keep him from putting on too many pounds. Even bartending was a relatively active job, but in a different way.
"So just cheesecake? Or do I smell something else?" he asked, giving up on picking graham bits and instead shoving his fingers into her hair and giving her ginger locks a shake. That would be a lot easier, aside from the crumbs probably going everywhere.
