Peter paused, and slowed his frantic brushing motions. "Y-you think so?" he asked. The man's smile was oddly hypnotic. "It was pretty s-stupid, I shouldn't have s-s-stood up." He clenched his jaw together to try and get his voice back under control.
"What... are you doing here, Professor?" he asked, resisting with every fibre of his being the urge to run away - not that he'd be able to get at all far if the old man wanted to stop him, he had no doubt. He might stand a chance if he went rat, perhaps, but maybe this incarnation didn't know about the Animagus Transformations, like the Dumbledore he remembered. That would make sense. Which made him one of the few people in this town who didn't know, and he ought to keep it that way.
