Molly adored snow. She loved the sight of the first snowfall, the perfect blanket of white before feet trod upon it. She loved how every snowflake was different and they were each gentler than the last. Several times, out of curiosity's sake, she'd frozen them and held them in her hand, using magic to keep them from melting. They were always beautiful. And usually at Christmases past, Molly decorated the trees with frozen snowflakes enchanted to never melt.
But it was really keeping in mind of the whole Christmas in July event as well, even though it was the thirty first today. She still loved the snow though, but with the good memories of snow it also brought painful ones. Like being bombarded with snowballs by a pair of gleeful brothers as they chased her, screaming, down the pathway at the Prewett home. But whilst it was always painful thinking of Gideon and Fabian, it was also a fond memory to think of. And for the time being she only had her memories of them.
Molly had come home for lunch, she had to go to work again in about an hour and a half, but there was nothing like having lunch at her own home. She was sipping tea, and eating some lemonade scones, which were charmed to stay warm, no matter how long they'd been out of the oven, so the butter could melt perfectly. She also had some cookies that were cooling on the counter.
Molly was interrupted from her reading of some of the new cookbooks she'd picked up from the bookstore by a knock on the door. She pushed out her chair, walked to the front door and opened it.
