Who: Frankie & Hannah What: Family reunion! Where: The cafe When: Shortly after Frankie's arrival
Frankie got one of the castle's other inhabitants to point him towards the cafe in the village. He did a leisurely stroll down there, hands in pockets, alternatively whistling and staring around at the place. It felt very strange to suddenly be in a place he'd never been before, without any warning or travel - like being in a dream. Part of him still wasn't convinced this wasn't one.
He found the cafe and hesitated outside for a moment. His mother remembered him as a two year old. There wasn't really any reason to expect that she wouldn't be any less than happy with the sixteen-almost-seventeen version of her eldest son, but he couldn't help but feel a little flutter of butterfly wings in his stomach, all the same. For all his bravado and banter when writing in the magic journal, deep down he felt a little lost. Ironically he wished that his mum and dad - his actual mum and dad from his own time - were there to tell him what to do.
He shook off the anxiety as best he could and ducked into the cafe. It was quite bright and cheerful in here with comfortable-looking chairs and a counter full of enticing-looking baked goods. He looked around nervously for his mother, unconciously taking his hands out of his pockets and smoothing back his hair.
