Ollivander patiently smiled. "We'll see how you take to the process. Remember, enthusiasm is good, but patience is another quality that you'll need to have if you ever want to make a quality wand. Although, I do admit that the best wand you could ever own is one that's made by your own hand."
Finishing the rest of his tea in his cup, Ollivander continued, "In addition to these duties, you will be expected to help keep the shop tidy. This includes dusting the shelves here in the front area, and cleaning up and properly disposing of the wood shavings in the back, work area. I may call upon you to remind me of certain activities, for when I'm fully engaged in crafting a wand, I sometimes forget other appointments and neglect eating and sleeping. Not very glorious, but necessary. Even I had to sweep the floors when I began working for my father, so many years ago."
To hear that Dennis' wand wasn't working out well for him made Ollivander's brow furrow with concern. "May I see your wand?" he asked, holding his hand out to Dennis.
