Longer legs, you bet. If he hadn't had longer legs, Gideon would've questioned some things about Amelia and how she got so damn tall. Fortunately, neither of them had to deal with it. "I didn't realize you were going to get nitpicky about winning fairly," Gideon scoffed, trying to suppress the smile he felt coming on. He thought her reaction was funny, and he still enjoyed tricking her and scaring her a little bit after he cheated. It was worth it just to see her jump like she did, even if it was just a tiny one. Maybe he'd try to scare her worse as October went on. It was the month for it, after all.
And then he just sat on his swing and watched her propel herself into flight. This was what Gideon liked to see. Happy Mel. Not Mel who can't sleep because of nightmares or things like that. Not Mel who's crying because her other boyfriend disappeared (and then came back as a teenager). Just happy Mel who was having fun and smiling, even if she was acting like a kid. Gideon didn't really care. He just wanted to help her let loose and do something that might be considered normal.
Just because he wanted her to be happy didn't mean he couldn't joke around with her in a semi-mean manner. "Exciting plans? I don't think so. I was thinking you can stay here and swing while I go home, pop open a beer. So you have fun, I'll see you later," Gideon teased, going as far as standing up and starting to walk away from her. He walked very slowly, though, since he wasn't intending on leaving her at all.
