Dinner had been great. Gideon opted for the Blue Cow because it was more casual. He didn't want the stress of the Beau Mangerie involved in the current point of their relationship. If they had something important to do, that would be an option. For their first official date, with the village being how it still was after the attacks, he wanted to keep things light. Plus, he was just a casual person and the fancy schmancy-ness of the other restaurant, Gideon didn't really want much to do with it.
Without even intending on it, the order of things Gideon had suggested was convenient. They'd walked to the Blue Cow, and the park was between there and their house. He hadn't really spent much time in the park since the village was rebuilt aside from passing by it or through it on his way to work when he felt like walking. He figured a park after dinner had some semblance of romance to it, whether they sat on a bench and looked at things or sat on the swings and acted like they were much younger than their years.
Gideon gave a small smile when Amelia took his hand, and he laced their fingers together while they walked. And then she said something about teenage methods of vandalism, making Gideon laugh. "Do people even do that anymore?" he asked. He could recall seeing a few Muggle houses with toilet paper all over their front yards while he was growing up, usually around this time of year. "How about you sit on the swing over there and I'll push your smart arse until you fly off?" He was mostly teasing. Gideon was pretty confident Amelia could swing by herself. He wouldn't really be pushing her.
