Oliver crouched down when Comet came running over to him, dropping the toy at Oli's feet. Oliver scratched him between the ears and smiled at him. He didn't think he was obsessed with the puppy. At least not more than any other dog owner would be after acquiring a pet. When Percy looked over Oli straightened up and left Comet to his toy, which the puppy promptly dragged away.
"Yeah, I just wanted to talk." he had to wince, because it sounded much more serious than it was. After all he'd just come down to thank Percy for making sure Oli had such an enjoyable birthday and for taking him to dinner with Charlie and Cress. "Blimey, what I mean's thank you, you know, for my birthday and all." He didn't say 'and for Comet', it felt like it was a bit too delicate for the situation.
He walked over to Percy so he could pull him into a tight hug.
