"I don't know which one I want," Oli said, blinking at Percy. He opened his mouth to protest more, but then shut it again without letting out so much as an annoyed huff. He wasn't even going to bother fighting with Percy, because he was going to lose anyway. Percy was even more hardheaded than Oliver was. Besides there was no argument Oli could come up with, after Percy decided the puppy would be an early birthday present. "Fine," Oli mumbled finally, a small smile already tugging at his lips. "Thanks, Perce," he said. "You're the best."
He was just about to turn back to the puppies when Percy spoke again. "You're not paying for all that," he said. Well... "Or at least you'll let me pay you back, once I have a job." He definitely wasn't going to budge on that.
