Percy was insistent, folding his arms across his chest. "An owl isn't such a priority in a village this size, especially when you can write people using the journals. Not that I think owls are obsolete," Percy added, glancing over at the birds Autumn was carrying. "I'll still get one, but later on. Is that the puppy you'd like? Consider it an early birthday present."
Addressing Autumn now, Percy said, "We'll need a number of items, including a doggie bed."
