Oliver paid close attention when Autumn gave them more information on the collies. Exercise wouldn't be a problem. Even if Oli had decided to be a little more relaxed about his diet, he was still going to work out a lot, so he could take the puppy for runs and walks. He was also pretty sure that whatever job he got in the village would leave him with enough time for the dog.
The only thing that was missing was Percy's permission. After all they did share the house where the puppy would live. "Seriously?" Oliver asked, surprised. He'd thought Percy would need more convincing before he'd agree to get them a puppy. He tried to decipher whether Percy was reluctant about it, but he couldn't find any indication.
The little puppy Oli was petting was licking at his fingers and Oliver laughed softly. There several little puppies, a mix of black, white and brown and Oliver looked at them again, then back over at Percy, as if that would help him decide which one he wanted.
Oli was pulled out of his assessment of the puppies when Percy spoke to Autumn again. "What? Hey, no!" he said and got to his feet. "We came here to get you an owl." He hadn't forgotten about that, no matter how much he'd turned his attention on the puppies. They'd set out in the morning for a walk and to get Percy the owl he wanted. "We're getting you that owl," he said sternly.
