Two, two, TWO tags in one!
"You didn't let me finish!" Percy countered, light-heartedly. "I wanted to save the best for last. In 2004, you managed to win a European Cup against the Tutshill Tornados. Final score, 210 to 40." Percy paused to let the news sink in before adding, "It was a frenzied game that went into over time for a day. Your Keeping Skills gained you quite some notoriety, A few months after that, you introduced me to your new boyfriend, James Penrose, a Chaser for Wimbourne. It lasted for some time, but then you broke up after he signed up to play for the Stonewall Stormers and moved to Canada."
Percy waited for Oliver's reaction, then mentioned, "There's more, but I only know about it myself from being told, since it occurs in my future. In 2006, your team played in the World Cup against the Heidelberg Harriers. Before the earthquake leveled everything, there was a book of Quidditch History, where it was all described in exciting detail and included a photo of you making this dazzling save. Your Keeping Skills gained you quite some notoriety, so much so that you were asked by a a number of companies to represent them as their sponsor, including the Nimbus Racing Broom Company, Quality Quidditch Supplies and Twilfitt & Tattings, where they wanted you to pose for a photoshoot in one of their designer sets of robes. Your photo was also on the box of a breakfast cereal."
"More?" Oli asked curiously. Obviously more things had happened in the two years he'd missed, but he didn't really expect Percy to tell him every little detail. Although what Percy did tell him wasn't much of a detail, at least not for Oli.
"I know you're not just joking with me, but I feel like you're just making this up," Oli said, his eyes a little wide and his tone soft and surprised. While he knew he was good, had to be to play for Montrose, he always thought he had so much room for improvement. It seemed like a bit much. In his time Scotland had hardly managed to get very far in the World Cup when he had played the year before. But they'd had a few young talents and the last friendlies had gone very well for them, so it wasn't entirely a shock.
Oliver took a minute to digest the new information and while he thought about it the grin on his face grew bigger and bigger. "I'm awesome, aren't I?" he asked Percy, shaking his head in disbelief. "And I got myself a Quidditch player as a boyfriend? I guess I have reached all my goals in life..." He ducked his head a bit and made a face. "Is it weird that I feel amazingly proud even if I haven't actually achieved any of that yet?" He was always humble about his achievements, which made it so strange to hear about his future accomplishments.
