Since Ava had said she didn't know much about Quidditch, Oliver didn't feel like giving her a lecture about it. Besides, he'd outgrown his rivalry with Flint years ago, so it would feel petty to go on about how cheating wasn't always punished and everything. "I don't know... I guess it's not the most impressive thing there is, but it's a really good feeling to hoist the cup. Especially because you do it for your house, so that's that." Oliver had spent his last year in school doing his very best to help Gryffindor win the Quidditch cup and back then it had been like reaching the goal of a lifetime. Ten years later of course he'd achieved other things and learned some more about life and yet it was still one of his happiest memories.
"Actually... I think I'd really like that." Oli had never considered it before, but he would give it a try. "If you're willing to give me a chance I'd like to learn it once the village is back in shape." Sword fighting couldn't be that different from Quidditch, it probably required just as much determination and training, neither of which was a problem for Oliver. "Did you fight with a sword during the attack?" he asked curiously. So far no on had told him how exactly the battle had gone or what kind of monsters had attacked.
"Oh..." He ran a hand through his curls and tried to think of something to say. "Percy said that when people die here they just go back to their own time. Maybe it's not too bad?" If it was true Oli was sure he wouldn't mind dying in the village if it meant going back home to his parents and his sister. "Bugger, though, it still sucks for the people here..." Oli sighed. "What're they like? The founders?" Changing topics wasn't one of Oliver's strong suits, but he always found that it cheered him up, talking about people he liked and Ava seemed to like the founders. Being a Hogwarts student Oliver knew about them through lessons and from history books, but he had never met them or someone who knew them personally.
