"No, I really hate losing." Oliver laughed a little. Being a sore loser was a fault he had no trouble admitting, especially because it was impossible for him to hide how much losing bothered him. "But that's not why I had a problem with them," he clarified. "I captained the Gryffindor team for a few years and we did really well against the Slytherins. But their captain was a cheating bastard, that's why I didn't like them. Their style of play didn't appeal to me and Flint was... well, we didn't get along," he trailed off with a laugh. He shouldn't be cursing so much, really.
That was a familiar name for Oliver. "Of course, Liam Connolly! Someone told me he was here, too. I should have known." He nodded his head a bit and looked at the pebble in his palm. "They'll both be great teachers, if you do decide to try out Quidditch or just flying in general. The modern brooms are amazing. They've got cushion charms and the acceleration is breathtaking... quite literally with some models." Oliver grinned. "I've just got a new one for the start of the season, it's a shame I don't have it here with me, it's a really good one." As keeper Oliver needed an agile broom with quick acceleration, one he could use for sharp turns and the one he'd bought himself was perfect for him.
"I see. Slytherins are supposed to be very ambitious, no?" Oli would call himself ambitious, although usually he had a single-minded focus on Quidditch and his ambition was the next clean sheet to help his team win the league. Not that that was a bad thing, in his opinion. "He'll notice, though, if you do a good job, right? Maybe you'll get a better task after that?" he suggested. In Quidditch you always had the coach what you could do before anything. "There's a Hogwarts here, then? So you live up at the castle or are you staying in the village?" Oliver knew he still had so much to learn about how things worked in the village, but he found that talking to people was the best way to do just that. And maybe flying around to look at the place from above, once he could get his hands on a broom.
