"Can't help my Gryffindor, I s'pose." She said with a small, hollow laugh. It hurt to laugh, but she tried not to show it. She could see the pain on his face and didn't want him to know how bad she hurt. She wanted to save him from the pain. She couldn't save James and so she needed to save Albus. She just did.
She looked away from him for a moment. She hadn't realized he'd been there for her small freak out. Or...well it wasn't so small, was it? She'd heard bits from other people and had partly sorted through some things herself. She didn't know how much he'd seen, but she knew that it had to have been bad.
"You shouldn't have had to see that." She said quietly, glad that he was there, holding her right then. Her voice was tight as the memory of Tom Riddle came back to her.
