Who Neville and Ginny Where Near the castle What Fending off monsters and making Neville be not!dead When Right after his arrival Rating Likely low
This was not what Neville thought he'd be doing when he woke up this morning. He was going to go to the market, buy milk, go home and study Transfiguration. Which was ironic in itself because he was trying to use it right now to make the shard of glass/letter opener become more menacing to any potential monsters. Luckily, he hadn't managed to run into any, but that was because he was actively avoiding them with every fibre of his being. He'd had a close call once, but a duck around the corner and managing not to trip as he ran had served him rather well. However, that meant he had to keep sending up sparks as he moved.
He also occasionally stopped to write to Draco Malfoy, which was something he didn't think he'd ever actually do. But it kept him busy. His letter opener was currently a dagger, but that wasn't even close to ideal. He slumped against a wall and sent up another round of sparks, hoping that Ginny was almost there and not stuck fighting a monster herself. It kind of felt like the battle... with fewer people. And more monsters. It was kind of awful.
"Shite... Ginny. Where are you?" he muttered, glancing up at the sky. He'd assumed she'd be on a broom, but he realized then that he had no clue how she was going to reach him. What if she was on foot? That wasn't what he wanted. He pushed himself off the wall and stood up, prepared to run when he heard the next noise. Noises were not his friends right now.
