When Gideon's voice turned authoritative e like that, she chuckled out loud. It was cute, but he should know by now she really wasn't used to following orders. But for once he could rest easy on that she supposed, she knew she wasn't in any condition to be doing much.
When his arm went around her, Amelia almost instinctively laid her head on his shoulder. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she had been craving a comforting touch. Plus, she was dead tired and it was nice to have something to lay against besides the hard ground.
Sighing though when he spoke of her sleep deprivation, she nodded slightly. She knew he was right of course, but it wasn't easy. Honestly, there had been a few months when she had been able to sleep... and that was when she had someone else beside her. No, stop it, she scolded herself. No crying about that now. She wasn't going to really say anything to him about that, but before she knew it her mouth was blurting the words. "I slept okay for a while not too long ago...." she started pitifully. "When Teddy was here.... I don't know why it changed things... maybe I just instinctively felt safe or something." Failing to look at him and instead finding great interest in the ground she added, "And that probably sounds equally pathetic to anything else I've said tonight."
Amelia hated the fact that she needed someone, but after everything she had lost back in the real world, it was hard for her. She liked to play it tough, but on the inside she was melting.
Finally looking up at him she added, "By the looks of things you could use some sleep yourself, Blondie."
