Albus heard Lee talking again. The man's voice mixed with all the conversation snippets swirling around them. Al wondered if Lee could hear all that. "Do you hear it?" He looked up, but didn't let go of Lee's arm. "The feelings, they have sounds. I think anyway." He didn't know tears dripped down his face. "So many sounds. So many feelings. I can't shut them off. I want to shut them off." His words rushed together. On a good day, Al could pick up on things around him, but now? It was like a constant stream that he couldn't keep up with. "I write this stuff, but living it, living it with all the people and all their...all their feelings..." He drew his knees against his chest and wrapped his arms around them. He backed into his corner, rocking slightly. Without meaning too, he silently started counting, trying desperately to block out the flying thoughts.
